We did a practice run of pitching the tent in Corey's parents' backyard in Pittsburgh. Here is our $50 tent from Dick's. It is quite spacious, and Corey even fits in it (if he faces the right direction)!
Corey's parents hosted a very lovely cook-out lunch with grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, the best corn-on-the-cob I've had in a LONG time (what's up with Boston's crappy corn?), and a Bon Voyage cake for Brad, Corey's brother who is leaving for a semester at University of Edinburgh, and us.
We have to do the last bit of laundry, re-pack the car, and prepare for the long day of driving tomorrow. We have hotel reservations in Madison, WI for tomorrow night, and we have been told that it will take about 12 hours to get there from Pittsburgh. Up until now, it just feels like a normal trip to Pittsburgh for us (a trip that we normally take a few times a year), but tomorrow I think this cross-country adventure and our move will start to feel real for me. I feel like I haven't been able to catch my breath for the past two months, but I am looking forward to breathing deeply for the next couple of weeks and enjoying the beautiful starry night skies.

I hope the tent has facilities to wash dishes too. Oh, I forgot you might want to eat on paper plates, and maybe eat the paper plates to help with being earth friendly. Good luck to the first national park.

Good luck guys!
